What do the different statuses actually mean?

Postby Leanne » Thu Mar 04, 2010 1:01 pm

When we update the status we are passing along the progress that the messages have made in our system as well as the progress reports that we get from the networks.

Sent - The message has been processed by us and has successfully been accepted by the networks who will work to deliver it to a handset.

Delivered - The message has reached the handset and the networks have received confirmation that the message has reached its destination.

Failed - The message can't be successfully delivered to the handset.

Expired - The networks have been retrying the message for the maximum amount set in the validity period but the handset hasn't been able to accept delivery.

Failed Authorisation - On a premium account or marketing account this means that the recipient has opted out of receiving any more messages from the sender.

This can also appear if there is a daily message limit set on an account.
