Message marked as 'Delivered' but never arrived

I am trialling Esendex for a potential application. I am using the Java API and have sent messages through the Java API.

When I log on to Esendex Echo, I can see the messages sent by my Java component with a status of 'Delivered' but those messages never arrived. I also tried sending it through Echo and the same thing happened. I have tried sending it to a mobile phone in Malaysia and that got through fine. I have accidentally entered a wrong country code and the message is showing as 'Expired'. I have double and triple checked the numbers and they look right. The number I am testing is a NZ mobile number, hosted by Vodafone NZ.

Is there something I am doing wrong? I kind of like to get this sorted within the trial period so that I can demonstrate the prototype.
